Feedback on Dakkat Shay دكّة شاي. (Hospitality and Gastronomy) in Ras Al-Khaimah (Ras al-Khaimah)
Overview
So, I recently checked out Dakkat Shay دكّة شاي, located on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Salem Rd in Ras Al Khaimah. Honestly, the vibe is pretty chill, but boy, it gets crowded! I mean, there are only four tables. Four! Talk about a squeeze!
You walk in, and the first thing you notice: that beautiful atmosphere. The decor seems thoughtful, but it’s a bit of a maze with so many bodies crammed together. You’d think there’d be a line, but nope—just a bunch of people jockeying for space. Now, let’s chat about the tea. I heard they have a great selection, but the prices? Woah. Six dirhams for a little Istikana? Are we in New York or something?
Sure, the Karak and Sangini tea were tasty. I can’t lie about that. But at what cost? I even tried the cheese ragag bread—delicious, by the way—but pretty much everyone I talked to felt like they were being charged a premium for what should be a casual experience.
And the service? A little hit or miss. Some folks said the staff seemed a bit lost trying to figure out orders. I mean, don’t we all love a good cup of tea served with a smile?
On the plus side, they do have takeaway options for those on the go. Plus, they’re open late, which is a bonus.
Overall, if you can handle the hustle and bustle, Dakkat Shay has a lot going for it. Just maybe be prepared to pay a bit more than you’d expect!
